Description

Key Objectives

Commercial decision-making support

* Business partnering with Business Strategy Director, Sales Director and Sales Team

* Robust education and analysis of proposed promotional activity to support decision-making.

* Provide appropriate level of challenge to drive sound decisions.

* Identify risks and ensure appropriate mitigation.

* Post-promotion reviews to determine success/failure and learn lessons.

Financial oversight and governance

* Provide financial oversight over business processes including inventory management, order fulfilment, revenue recognition and fraud prevention to ensure that internal controls are effective and robust, and areas of risk are highlighted and appropriately addressed by the TV/AV team.

* Ensure that revenue and costs are being recorded completely, accurately and timely.

* Support TV/AV related projects as needed.

Financial planning

* Support and drive monthly forecasting process.

* Provide appropriate level of challenge to ensure that forecasts are robust, stretching and achievable.

* Prepare as hoc analysis where necessary to highlight and analyse key drivers, assumptions and sensitivities behind the forecast.

Driving financial performance

* Work closely and partner with TV/AV management team to drive financial performance and ensure that the division’s financial objectives regarding sales and profitability are delivered.

* Prepare value added reporting and analysis to support management and identify significant trends/issues, e.g. monitoring performance versus plan, customer/product profitability etc.

* Identify opportunities to maximize financial performance and grow the business.

Key Competencies/Characteristics.

Essential Hard Skills Required:

* Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA), ACA preferred

* Post qualification experience of at least 5 years

* Bachelors’ degree and above

* Hands on experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP)

Essential Soft Skills:

* Strong commercial acumen

* Ability to work in a high pressure environment, take quick and effective decisions and direct others

* Willing to work overtime when required to meet the urgent deadlines

* Excellent analytical skills to understand business drivers and interpret financial results

* Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels, get key messages across succinctly and work with others

* Proven track record in demonstrating accountability and ownership; proactive approach

* Strong influencing skills to persuade management that your conclusions are correct and obtain buy-in

* Strong reporting skills, display key information and convey messages clearly, concisely and with impact

To be successful in this role you ideally have:-
