Orange Appointments are working closely with a leading, high profile building services consultancy seeking a talented Senior Fire Engineer to assist in leading the London team.

A forward thinking consultancy, working on an impressive range of high profile projects across the UK and international. You'll receive a market leading salary up to £60K plus flexible benefits package
The suitable candidate will be degree qualified (ideally Chartered) and will have already been working within a fire safety design engineering environment for either a small or large consultancy for a minimum of 6 years.
Role and Responsibilities:
-Work with a fantastic team of fire engineers in the London office to deliver prestigious fire engineering projects both in the UK and overseas
-Lead & mentor more junior members of the team and lead by example
-Represent Fire Engineering at design team meetings, both internal and externally
-Liaise with approval authorities on fire safety designs and proposals
-Build knowledge to be able to identify and specify appropriate fixed fire protection systems
-Carry out and review fire engineering calculations including smoke modelling and evacuation analysis from simple hand calculations to complex 3D computational modelling (previous CFD experience is welcome)
-Manage relationships with internal and external clients, engineers and other stakeholders
- Share knowledge both within the fire engineering team and on a wider basis
-Be competent with IT packages such as Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Autocad and analysis software
Key Requirements:
-A higher education qualification in engineering or in a fire safety related subject (ideally CEng)
-Demonstrable, relevant 'hands-on’ professional experience within fire engineering design. Project experience within the commercial, residential, education and healthcare markets an advantage.
-Confident, proactive character, with a strong track record or the ability to take the lead in challenging situations
-Developing expertise in delivering fire safety engineering solutions in a multi-disciplinary environment with solid experience in developing fire strategies, undertaking engineering analysis and applying performance based designs
-Ability to lead and develop other less experienced fire engineers
-Commercially focused, with the ability to win work
-An aptitude for problem solving
-Willingness to travel across the UK & International
