Person Specification

Qualifications &


·Knowledge of the OEM camera/IR market and customers, the candidate is expected to sell specialist cameras and associated accessories into multiple market sectors from Military to Scientific

·Understanding of the fundamentals of optical technologies relating to specialist cameras and imaging applications including the military, security and industrial markets. Emerging markets include Border Control, Drones, Oil & Gas etc

·Knowledge of Thermal Imaging spectrum cameras (SW/MW/LW)

·Understanding of Machine Vision cameras

·A degree qualification in Opto-electronics or related subject would be an advantage

Skills & Experience

·Proven Sales results

·Existing relationships with major customers within our target markets

·Previous exposure to suppliers such as Flir, SBIR, IRC of interest

·Practical mechanical capabilities

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·IT Networking skills (capable of setting up IP camera systems)

·Good commercial acumen with ability to present/demonstrate our companies products at all levels from engineering to senior management as appropriate.

·Delivery of technical powerpoint presentations

Field based, working from home

Customer base across the UK, therefore nationwide travel expected

Purpose of the Job/Key Performance Indicators:

·To identify new and profitable business opportunities and grow the customer base and sales in the designated markets to achieve sustainable revenues exceeding £1Million/annum and/or agreed sales target

·To build and maintain long-term relationships with both new and existing customers and suppliers.

·To optimise gross margin on all sales transactions.

Main Duties & Accountabilities:

·To follow-up and develop business leads with new and existing customers.

·Presentation and demonstration of the features and benefits of the Companies products.

·Within the target customers understand who the key decision makers are and the timeline/budget availability for each project/sales opportunity

·Work closely with Sales Manager and suppliers on projects to meet customers’ specific needs and to turn these needs into sales opportunities and subsequent revenue.

·Successful negotiation, implementation, and management of contracts/sales with customers when within the boundaries set by management.

·Work at all levels within prospects organisations (including engineers, project management and buyers) to get products specified and to win the business.

·To maintain up-to-date product and sales information on the company systems and other media.

·To provide accurate and detailed feedback and reports on sales activities (the opportunity pipeline) to Sales Manager.

·Working closely with the internal sales, central purchasing, marcom, and accounts teams to maximise business opportunities and meet customer expectations.

·To agree and review with Management the target accounts and annual plans for achievement of agreed objectives.

·Attendance at Exhibitions, conferences and customer events as required.

·Participation in Company sales meetings and internal and external training courses.

·Timely management of any administrative duties including:

oOrganising work schedule and set up of appointments / visits.

oProviding sales analysis and reports for the area / customers.

oUpdating and maintaining database records.

oForecasting, monitoring, and evaluating sales figures for the region.

·Any other relevant and reasonable duties that may be requested by management
