ASPHALT & AGGREGATES TECHNICIAN BITUMINOUS MATERIALS – INTERIM CONTRACT

£10 PER HOUR 8AM-4 PM FOR 2-3 MONTHS CONTRACT

Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Our client is a market leader within the Aggregates & Asphalt sector with many innovative products and solutions for infrastructure and built environment.

An interesting opportunity has arisen for an Asphalt Technician experienced in the sampling and testing of bituminous materials using the furnace method. You will also be involved in sampling and testing of aggregates, moisture content and gradings; visual inspections of bituminous materials on wagon bodies. Applicants must have experience of asphalt materials used in asphalt road construction.

The Role:

* You will be responsible for assisting the technical and operation teams in ensuring that defective materials are not sent out to customers.

* This opportunity will involve being responsible for carrying out product quality and compliance testing for aggregates and asphalt products both safely and in a timely manner.

* The successful candidate will be responsible for logging results and communicating any non-compliance to ensure corrective action is taken.

* The maintenance of site practices and quality procedures is an integral part of the role and the successful candidate will play a crucial part in this area.

* The successful candidate will also actively maintain a strong Health and Safety culture across their own department and sites visited whilst maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues both operationally and commercially.

* A full driving license is essential as there will be some travel involved in the role.

The Ideal Candidate:

* The ideal candidate will be an Asphalt Technician experienced in the sampling and testing of bituminous materials using the furnace method.

* This role would suit a proactive and enthusiastic individual who has the ability to work on their own initiative but is also equally comfortable working within a team environment.

* This is a role based on ensuring that our materials are at a high quality so attention to detail is crucial as is a desire for continuous improvement.

Initially our client is offering a 3 months contract, paying £10 per hour for a 8-4 pm working day. There is a possibility that the contract may be extended
