Supervisor: Director, Enterprise Architecture

Brief description: As an Enterprise Architect you will be part of the Global Enterprise Architecture organization under Sysco's Business Technology Enterprise Services organization. Sysco's Business Technology department brings together technology and process expertise into one streamlined, customer and business-oriented team. Our focus is to provide innovative business solutions that eliminate waste, maximize customer satisfaction and improve business productivity.

As Enterprise Architect - Europe, you will be strategically focused and will help drive and shape the evolution of Sysco Europe's technology strategy and solution landscape. In this advanced role, you will be required to partner with business and technical leaders, provide architecture guidance, best practices and techniques, have deep and extensive knowledge of key enterprise capabilities (including customer-facing, ERP, back-office processing, etc.), and be able to efficiently communicate to various partners with varying levels of understanding. The ability to assess and understand existing, complex technical solutions is a must in this role along with having the vision to simplify and modernize systems, remove redundancies and improve inefficiencies.
You will work closely with business and technology leaders in the Sysco's European group to execute the global EA operating model and help define the technology strategy and roadmaps to achieve the strategic goals for various Europe business units. You will also define global technology standards/principles and provide architectural oversight to roadmap implementation activities. You will collaborate with other Enterprise Architects to ensure effective coverage of all architecture domains in the technical strategy and roadmaps (business, application, technical, security, integration and data architecture). You will ensure that technology solutions align with the global EA standards and offer support to delivery teams regarding new technologies evaluation and technical requirements definition.
Description of Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong understanding of Sysco's European business units, their goals, business strategy and technology landscape
• Work with business and technology leaders to define the technical strategy, future state architecture vision and technology roadmaps to achieve strategic goals
• Define and maintain comprehensive architecture views (current and future) incorporating business, application, infrastructure, data and security architecture principles
• Ensure future state architecture vision is in alignment with Sysco's global strategy and global EA standards/guidelines
• Provide technology leadership, architectural oversight and high-level solution design guidance for key technology initiatives
• Contribute to the global EA standards/patterns/guidelines and ensure that European aspects are effectively covered
• Implement and operate the local technology governance framework to ensure new technology projects and implementation initiatives are aligned with the global tech strategy and converge to the future state architecture vision
• Act as a trusted advisor and provide technology guidance to business units in their strategic planning and project development lifecycles
• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and assist with technology vendor and product selection activities
• Work with the Mergers & Acquisition team to conduct M&A due diligence and develop an M&A playbook
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with business/technology stakeholders, subject-matter experts, other domain/enterprise architects and key vendor partners Educational requirements:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Bachelor's degree in Computer science with equivalent work experience.
Experience and Skills:

• 12+ years of cumulative work experience in IT
• 5+ years of architecture experience with working knowledge of atleast two architecture subdomains (business, application, infrastructure, data and/or security architecture)
• Experience working in a large, multi-unit enterprise context and familiarity with mergers & acquisitions and business-unit integration processes/activities
• Proven track record of hands-on technical delivery including systems analysis, development, project management and/or production support
• Extensive understanding across the breadth of enterprise functions (Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of technologies including ERP, consumer-facing web/mobile, custom development, application integration, infrastructure, cloud, SaaS, and/or security technologies
• Self-starter and ability to drive results with minimal supervisory direction
• Strong-interpersonal and influencing skills to enable effective completion of tasks both individually and within matrixed teams
• Ability to break down complex, multi-faceted concepts into understandable solutions/options and effectively communicate to a range of business and technical audiences
• Experience with SAP in a European context is strongly preferred
• Experience with Agile and DevOps environments is strongly preferred
