Becoming a Procurement Analyst Intern with Capita Central Government Services:

We currently have a very exciting opportunity for a university student or a recent graduate to join our Southampton based team on a year-long Procurement Internship. The purpose of the role will be work within the procurement team managing the buying process and understanding current and upcoming client requests to ensure relevant buying options are implemented.

This role is idea for either a student looking to undertake a year in business during their degree or someone who has recently graduated and is looking for their first role in this arena. This role is a one year contract.

What you will do:

Proactively reviewing data and identifying opportunities to source requirements and recommend opportunities for cost avoidance/control

Receiving, processing and placing purchase requests through a variety of workflow tools following client specific policies and processes
*

Undertaking the end to end management of quotation activities including market research, supply options appraisal, to identify opportunities to reduce costs and drive process efficiencies
*

To manage and execute the tactical buying process for general, low to mid value spend categories
*

Understand incoming client requests and specification, follow up with the client where required (by phone, email etc) to ensure specifications are clear in order to select the best tactical buying options

Your experience will include:

* Studied/studying for a degree in a business related subject
* A keen desire to forge a career in the procurement industry
* Excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail
* An analytical and proactive approach to work
* Good communication skills both written and verbal
* IT literate (MS Office package) and adept at learning new systems
