Every year we need to raise over £16 million pounds to provide our services, a large part of this comes from our 455 shops across the UK and through our online trading platforms.

The Role

This role is an opportunity to lead and develop the New Goods teams at Sue Ryder reporting directly to the Commercial Director. You will maximise revenue, growth and profit for the New Goods business at Sue Ryder Direct, both in the shops and online through strategic operational planning, purchasing and developing commercial opportunities in the Retail business.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead on new goods procurement strategies for Retail shops and online, using sound commercial insights to drive ROI.
• Prepare, agree and monitor forward budgets and KPI’s to deliver results, forecast including price trends and their impact on future sales activity.
• Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure New Goods promotions and marketing initiatives are planned, driving brand engagement.
• Supporting the delivery of shop and online budgets at operational level, ensuring effective New Goods trading activity is supported and maximised to drive sales growth.
• Drive the New Goods online trading agenda, Identifying new areas of e-commerce opportunities
• Lead and manage a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results and continuous improvement.
• Ensure environmental standards and UK legal and safety requirements are met throughout the buying process.

About you
It’s an exciting time to join Sue Ryder and to hit the ground running you will ideally be qualified to degree level and registered with a relevant professional body such as CIPS or be able to demonstrate relevant experience and achievement. With proven leadership and project management skills you’ll have considerable commercial experience and financial acumen in a retail commercial environment. You should also have good knowledge of technical regulations related to purchasing, sale of goods act, trading standards and consumer rights.
