About the Position:

The candidate will be part of a global project team of engineers involved in the Beta testing, support and release of pre-production software and hardware products, with a goal of validation that these future products work well in customer lab environments. As a Beta Field Engineer, you ensure the timely completion of several complex, independent tasks or multiple projects and provide technical direction to product teams and customers.


Ownership of the Beta Test area of the New Product Introduction Process will include(many of these items will be done remotely):

Program Preparation:

Collaboration with Product Managers, devlopment and test on beta program timelines, hardware allocations and potential beta customer lists

Read functional specs, test plans, etc to come up to speed on new features

Test new features if time and hardware are available

Engagement with sales teams and customers for participation into beta programs

Coordinate the staging of hardware/software and ship prototypes to beta test locations

Communicate customer beta test plans to develpment/test within Juniper

Program Execution

Post and announce software and documentation for beta sites

Assist customers with any installation, testing, feedback and or issues they may arise during a typical 4-8 week beta program

Open and track Services Requests(SRs) and prioritize Problem Reports(PRs) which are found by beta sites.

Program Wrap-up

Close the beta program and track the return of all hardware

Ensure all issues uncovered during the program have been addressed

Assemble beta site final reports into a wrap-up and provide to New Product Introduction team

Minimum Qualifications:

BSEE/CS combined with 8+ years of related experience. The ideal candidate should have detailed understanding of network design, implementation and troubleshooting. Experience with Juniper Networks SRX hardware/software and commercial networking test equipment is essential. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Juniper hardware and software above and beyond SRX. Additionally, a background with Unix (Freebsd, Linux) is also a plus as most work is done on Unix systems. Lastly, ability to develop presentation slideware and create documentation for customers is also a plus.

Other Information:

Relocation is not available for this position

This position may require occasional travel - possibly 1-2 trips per year

Must be capable of lifting heaving equipment (approx 80 lbs)
