About the position



Prudentials Individual Life Insurance business unit has an exciting opportunity to join the Data Analytics and Process Re-engineering team within the Assumptions & Strategy group. The group is responsible for managing large data sets and providing analytics and actionable insights from this experience. The teams vision is to raise the bar on data management, analytics, and visualization within the Actuarial function. Paramount to this vision is our culture of collaboration, talent development, transparency, and innovation. Our team is cross functional and includes actuarial, data management, data science, and project management skills. A successful candidate will be able to lead and support projects within each of these areas. This is a very dynamic team and its functions are critical to the success of the individual life business.



Specific responsibilities for this position will include:



Support and/or lead strategic projects around data management, process improvement, and data analytics/visualization

Support compliance and governance related activities and initiatives including interaction with Corporate Actuarial and Model Risk Governance

Support management of projects such as the 2Q assumption update process

Support a culture that is tech focused and data centric while being collaborative, creative, and inclusive



Qualifications



- Bachelors degree or higher in actuarial science, mathematics, or related quantitative field

- Strong analytical/mathematical skills

- Strong Excel skills including VBA and macros

- Knowledge of SQL

- Data visualization skills including Power BI and/or Tableau

- Ability to communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical audiences

- Experience with a programming language (Python, R, etc.) a plus

- Experience with modeling software (e.g. LifeMeasure) a plus

- Strong time management and organizational skills with a results-oriented mindset

- Knowledge of life insurance products a plus

- 1 or 2 Actuarial exams a plus
