QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER – BIOTECH / LIFE SCIENCES / MED-TECH
  
BASED LIVINGSTON SCOTLAND– £50-65,000 PER ANNUM PLUS BENEFITS
  
FULL TIME AND PERMANENT
  
Based in Livingston, ESS’ client is a well-known and highly successful life sciences and medical device business.  From their GMP design and manufacturing site in Livingston, the company supports medical and life science products in a range of markets.  The business is going through unprecedented growth in terms of demand, output and new staff.  As part of this period of sustained growth they now need to make the key hire of a Quality Assurance Manager.

Reporting into board level, the Quality Assurance Manager will play a key role supporting the daily activities of the quality function across the business, whilst helping to develop and execute a quality assurance strategy fit for new products, processes, new markets and geographies and increased production.  You will play a pivotal role supporting colleagues in quality control, regulatory and compliance, engineering and operations, and will be charged with building a world class quality function.  Other key responsibilities include:

Responsible for day to day oversight and management of the QMS
Responsible for compliance with the requirements of the CAPA and NCR process, with a strong focus to structure and optimise the current systems to drive timely resolutions
Work closely with the senior management team on all quality-related matters
Lead technical troubleshooting / failure investigations involving manufacturing non-conformances, product failures and customer complaints
Oversee and conduct supplier audits as necessary
Host customer and regulatory audits
Lead quality improvement projects to ensure highest levels of compliance and deliver process efficiencies
Key Quality contact for all customers and suppliers
Responsible for management of Quality KPIs
Member of the operational management team   
The relevant candidate will be educated to degree calibre in a Scientific (biology, microbiology or chemistry), or engineering discipline.  Ideally you have Quality Assurance Management experience of working in one of the following industry sectors; medical devices, biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals and other cleanroom based industries including semiconductors or optoelectronics.  Proven ability to lead and manage a quality function and its people at strategic and hands on day to day levels is taken as a given.  You are also a fully qualified internal and external lead auditor.

You are naturally excited about the scope and size of the challenge and planned expansion of this business.  Your base salary DOE (£50-65,000) is supplemented by a good bonus scheme, health care, pension and a properly thought out flexible hours working solution.
