The Client:

A market leading Blue Chip Oil & Gas organisation with a head office in Aberdeen.

A recognised market leader with expertise and experience developed in the harsh and technically demanding environment of the offshore oil and gas industry in the North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, and West Africa and Caspian regions.

The Opportunity:

This Manufacturing Division is a key area of strategic importance within the Group. There will be a need to visit other locations, including Customer sites.

They aim to completely satisfy customer needs and requirements with a relentless focus on delivering outstanding service, safety, quality, reliability, innovation, performance & value for money.

The role of QC Inspector is critical to this aim, providing demonstrable assurance of product and documentation quality.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

* Perform all activities in complete accordance with the company Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems;

* Inspect first -off, work-in-progress and finished product on a continual basis to appropriate procedures and specifications;

* Verify that material issued to the works order traveler is correct;

* Verify all inspection documentation and certification is eligible and compliant to the appropriate specifications;

* Inspect and verify that the “first off” from each operation complies with drawing /job card - including drawing revision number;

* Sign and stamp Job Card if satisfied with quality;

* Inform manufacturing staff of non-conforming product and complete a “defect” report;

* Complete and compile inspection reports and document packs as per customer requirements;

* Operate the CMM. Laser measuring machine, Hardness tester and Handheld XRF Analyzer (PMI) and other inspection equipment;

* Ensure all measuring and inspection equipment is serviced and calibrated to required standards, with the appropriate supporting documentation and that all equipment is suitably identified and recorded;

* Assist other areas such as Stamping, Packing, Machining when required;

* Maintain an efficient and effective department with a particular focus on speed of response, on time delivery, cost control and value for money;

* Encourage and develop the company “One Team”, right first time, every time ethos;

* Initiate and drive positive change that delivers demonstrable benefits to the company and customers.

The Candidate:

* Educated to National 4/5 or Standard level (or equivalent) incl. English and Maths

* 3 - 5 years’ experience in QC Inspection

* A background in Engineering and working within a Production/Manufacturing (preferably in a precision manufacturing) environment would be very desirable

* Document control background

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel

* Ability to plan and organise within an environment that is constantly changing

* You will need to be local to the Highlands as there is no offer a relocation package.
