ROLE- Product Analyst / Abaqus FEA Analyst

LOCATION- Aberdeen

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £40,000- £60,000 per annum dependent on experience (Please advise what you’re looking for)

My client work within the offshore sector and they are looking to take on a Product Analyst / Abaqus FEA Analyst on a permanent basis in the Aberdeen area.

The Product Development Engineer / Abaqus FEA Analyst will ideally have the following attributes:

Degree / Masters qualified in Mechanical Engineering
Proficient with doing FEA using either ANSYS or ABAQUS software
3 or more years’ experience working within a similar position carrying out design and analysis for the offshore sector ideally
Knowledge of and proficiency with using Autodesk Inventor / AutoCAD would be ideal
Existing knowledge of pipeline products/ connector design / analysis tools / subsea riser products
Appreciation of offshore industry standards (ASTM/ API/ ASME/ DNV)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
As the Product Development Engineer / Abaqus FEA Analyst your main duties will include:

Performing design and analysis using FEA for offshore connector products – primarily using Abaqus
Offering technical support to project teams when required
Producing detailed design and analysis reports
Ensuring numerical and analytical checks are done
Validating all hand calculations
Being involved with mechanical designers to create detailed fabrication and machining drawings
Developing test plans and configurations
