Each prison has its own purpose built OFSTED registered education department, boasting with both fully equipped classrooms for academic subjects and custom assembled workshops for vocational courses. All subjects delivered are fully accredited with a view to the learners gaining recognised qualifications.

We are currently recruiting for a Painting & Decorating Lecturer to work at HMP Isle of Wight (Cat B prison) on a part time basis. You will be delivering level 1 & 2 qualifications to small groups of learners. Emphasis is on achieving success so that the learners gain the skills and knowledge that they can apply to gain employment on release.

We are keen to hear from candidates that use innovative techniques to motivate and inspire learners. You will be using your industry experience to pass on skills and knowledge to learners and guide them through their course.

To be suitable for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria;

Previous training experience
A teaching qualification is desirable
Have good organisational and planning skills.
Plenty of enthusiasm and the ability to motivate learners.
Willingness to provide outstanding support for learners
Extensive knowledge of your subject area.
Be flexible and self-motivated with a dedication to learner achievement and quality.
Please note - you will be required to undertake prison security clearance before commencement of the role. This is completed as part of the recruitment process for successful candidates at no cost to yourself.
