Empowering Learning are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Behaviour Support Assistant for an SEMH setting in Cardiff. The school caters for pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and MLD in key stage 3 and 4.

The School and staff aim to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and resilience that supports their students to grow into purposeful young adults who gain the right education to move on to further education or the right skill set to gain employment.

We are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant who is an excellent practitioner with a positive attitude who can take on a creative and dynamic approach to learning and are willing to commit to on a long-term full-time position. We are looking for an individual with a genuine passion to support pupils with additional needs and behavioural issues.

The School is based in Cardiff, they offer a rich, varied and stimulating curriculum, which includes academic and vocational studies. The curriculum focuses on promoting spiritual, moral cultural and physical development. The school is built on five key values; these including
Accountability, Belief, Focus, Ownership and Respect. They integrate these values in everything they do as this helps to improve the pupil's self-esteem and outlook. They operate on a small group basis, the pupils often have gaps in their studies and this this helps them to make rapid progress.

To be successful for this role, you must have:

Experience working with pupils with SEMH/ASD/ADHD/MLD
Enthusiasm, dedication and motivation
A passion and desire to work with students with additional needs
Ability to be flexible and adapt to new learning environments
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and students
A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
