A local authority based in Hertfordshire is looking for an Empty Homes Project Officer to join their team. This is a full time, ongoing agency role and the successful candidate will have experience in a similar role, ideally within a local authority setting, a relevant construction qualification and experience dealing with void/empty properties.

The main purpose of the role is to ensure that all Empty Homes and mutual exchange works are of a high standard, are completed on time and within budget.

The additional main accountabilities will include the following;

Have overall and specific responsibility for the diagnosis of all repair and project works

Quality control, payment and contract management

Specification, ordering, liaison and procurement including rechargeable works to maximise income for the client.

Lead on key processes and time scales for the completion of surveys, makes decisions for improvements to ensure the processes followed are always efficient, appropriate and cost effective.

The post holder must be flexible, approachable and keen to work well with tenants, contractors, suppliers and colleagues.

The post holder will attend and make the key decisions during pre-termination inspections, liaising with the outgoing tenant to agree what works are to be carried out during the notice period and whether there will be any recharges.

The successful candidate will need to hold a full UK drivers licence as some travel will be required to site. The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this role and as such are offering up to £20 p/hr Umbrella Ltd for the duration of the contract.
