You could be like Roxy
"You get to learn something new every day"
Roxy started her career at Southdown as a Support Worker. She used to be a beautician but wanted to try something completely new - and has never looked back. To Roxy, being a Support Worker doesn’t seem like work. It’s really enjoyable. It’s varied. And, it's great knowing you’re helping vulnerable people to live life to the full. You can be yourself at work. You’re seen as an individual and your qualities are recognised. All you need to be is outgoing, creative, caring and a good listener.
The rewards speak for themselves. It's not just the comprehensive training and the chance to learn and develop. It’s also lovely to see clients interacting and making friendships, maintaining a degree of independence and enjoying a better life, all thanks to you. It’s about wanting to help make people’s lives exciting and interesting. Giving them something to get up for in the morning. Sharing the good times and supporting them in the not so good. Sometimes you’ll be the only person they see all day, so your friendly nature and 'nothing is too much trouble’ approach will have every chance to shine. If you can bring all that and are looking for a career rather than another job, congratulations, you just found it
So, what are you waiting for? Be like Roxy. Make the move to Southdown.
Closing date: Monday 3 June 2019.
Interview date: Thursday 13 June 2019.
