CAD Designer - Draftsperson (Mechanical) - Spider are advertising on behalf of our Client who are one of the main steam design, installation and servicing companies in the country. They are currently looking for a CAD Designer - Draftsperson (Mechanical) to be based from their office on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds.
As CAD Designer - Draftsperson (Mechanical) you will working in a small but efficient team and report to the Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for the creation of drawings and other design deliverables, contributing to and supporting the whole project from concept through to installation, including technical support.
Key tasks will include:
* Producing and review piping installation of steam and hot water systems, through 2D P&ID's, Isometric drawings and 3D modelling in line with industry standard to required costs.
* Liaise with colleagues, clients and stakeholders during design lifecycle including attending meetings, with Engineering Manager.
* Assist with the running of projects, including purchasing of materials and equipment for projects.
* Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
Skills and Attributes:
* Able to fully utilise Autodesk AutoCAD software in 2D/3D and preferably MPDS4
* Strong IT skills in windows 10 and Microsoft Office packages
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Able to demonstrate experience in a similar role, ideally within a steam or mechanical background
* Apprenticeship or engineering academic qualification in mechanical or piping systems would be desirable
* Clean Full Driving Licence - essential due to rural location
On offer is a generous salary from £25,000 to £35,000 (depending on experience) and company bonus paid twice a year (profit dependent). Training on MPDS4 Software and Steam and Condensate Systems will be provided to the ideal candidate, if required. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm. 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) and 1 extra days holiday for each year served up to 5 years.
