A Truck Shop Technician will independently, safely, and successfully repair, rebuild, and maintain various brands of truck engines, equipment, and/or components in a timely manner and according to specifications.



High school diploma required.

3+ years-experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing on highway bus, trucks and/or equipment preferred.

Shift work, weekends and/or 24-hour call may be required.

Currently possesses or can obtain a CDL license.

Skill-level requirements vary from basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to component replacement.

Ability to use diagnostic equipment (i.e., Cat ET, CAT-SIS)

Familiarization of electronic cables, connections and sensors.

Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures is required.

Must be able to read and interpret schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals.

Organizational and time management skills required. Ability to work independently, set and keep priorities, and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Must be a team player with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.

High degree of interpersonal skills with solid written and oral communication skills is required.

Must represent Blanchard Machinery and interact with the customers in a professional manner.


Working Conditions

The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside (non-climate controlled) throughout the day.

Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.

Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.

Physical use of a broad variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.

Must be able to lift varied weight.

Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.

Use of computer and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of Blanchard Machinery Company.

Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.

Safely assemble and disassemble components and equipment according to the manufacturers specifications, including chassis, axles, etc.

Verify findings, review readings of gauges, meters, and procedures and compare to manufactures specs.

Perform preventative maintenance.

Meet standard jobs expectations for assigned work orders.

Test the parts and/ or equipment and perform quality check after work is complete.

Pressure wash parts and equipment when necessary.

Maintain tool requirements

Preparing parts requisitions, timecards, part returns, accurate and complete service reports and other necessary reports and forms.

Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.
