You will be required to carry out the manufacture of high precision cylindrically ground components.

Primary Responsibilities

Setting & Operating of Manual and CNC cylindrical grinding machines (training can be given on CNC operation) to produce ground components within standard times to the correct Company/Customer quality requirements.

Adjust sizes and offsets as required, with approval from cell leader or Technician.

Regular inspection of components throughout batch run, to ensure overall quality is maintained.

Entering data on inspection charts, time sheets, work header date and stamps, and updating setting and process sheets.

Contribute to continuous improvement techniques to improve output, quality and delivery.

Be proactive in identifying document and process errors.

Maintain tidy work areas and safe-working practices at all times.

Other duties, as delegated, discussed and agreed with the Cell Leader.


It is essential to have knowledge of Grinding Practices within an environment, which produces components with fine tolerances and high finish.

Ideally a candidate will have served an engineering apprenticeship or with previous proven experience.

Ideally prospective candidates will have worked with Aerospace alloys.

The successful candidate will be a team player who is capable of working on own initiative

Manual dexterity

Able to read engineering drawings

Any recognised certificate of training in engineering or machining discipline
