Purchase Ledger Clerk – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Manchester

The Role

O’Connor Utilities Ltd is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their growing team in Manchester. You will be working within a busy Purchase Ledger department, taking responsibility for your own specific supplier accounts, reconciliation and payments monthly. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the construction industry with a first-rate organisation.

The key responsibilities of a Purchase Ledger Clerk include, but are not limited to:

Being responsible for the day to day responsibility of specific supplier accounts
Entering proof of delivery documents on sage construct
Checking invoices and getting them authorised for payment; entering invoices onto sage construct; and preparing all the invoices for payment
Reconciling monthly statements, and keeping the department up to date in terms of invoices and developing processes to deter backlog on payments
Ensuring you are working according to deadlines
Any other duties as reasonably required of you

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Purchase Sales Ledger:

Must have previous working experience in a purchase ledger role
Great interpersonal and communications skills, able to converse with a range of people
Good team working skills, but is also able to work independently when needed
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work to monthly deadlines
An aptitude for IT – knowledge of software packages like Excel, Sage and BACS
Friendly, enthusiastic, self-disciplined and self-motivated; and always looking for continuous personal and professional development
