Development Chemist required on a permanent basis in Greater Manchester. Requiring a degree in Chemistry or a related field and proven laboratory/industrial experience.

SRG are currently working with a well-established company producing a wide variety of polymer-based products for a range of industrial applications. As their success continues and the company continues to grow, they are looking to hire a Development Chemist to join their small technical team based in Greater Manchester. The role would be suitable for an individual who has some industrial laboratory experience, keen to take the next step in their career in R&D, or a graduate with an interest in industrial chemistry, looking for their first or second role.

Role / Description

Carry out formulation activities for day-to-day technical support
Develop formulations of new and existing products, working on multiple projects simultaneously
Support process improvement of formulations
Analysis of raw materials and finished products
Convert successful formulations into manufacturing instructions, supporting the scale-up from laboratory to production
Requirements

A degree or similar qualification in Chemistry or a related field
Proven industrial laboratory/manufacturing experience with a range of backgrounds considered (coatings, paints, adhesives, polymers)
Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
Well organised with good time management skills
Enthusiastic, keen to learn and self-motivated
