Bids/Project Buyer

My client is an exciting engineering organisation who work within the Automotive sector and are looking for an experienced Buyer to join the team. They have a huge number of projects currently and are continually winning new business and are looking for a Bids/project Buyer to strengthen the team.
 
Buyer – Role Responsibilities:

Support the sales function in winning new business through effective sourcing and accurate costing
Create the bid and project procurement strategies
Communicating clear cost, time and quality deliverables
Promote long-term performance by managing key supplier relationships
Point of contact for the project team
Manage procurement across quality, product development, logistics, production and the legal department
Work closely with the category buyers to secure timely deliveries within budget
Establishing bill of materials costs at key stages of the product development cycle 
Buyer – Essentials:

CIPS qualified - or currently studying
Experience within either the Automotive, Engineering or Manufacturing industries (desirable)
Excellent understanding of technical drawings and manufacturing processes
Strong planning and negotiation skills
Knowledge of SAP & ERP systems
Eligible for UK Security Clearance to minimum SC (‘Secret’) level
Full driving licence 
**The role requires some occasional travel in the UK and overseas**
