Technical Author

Our innovative and rapidly expanding technology client is looking for an experienced technical author to document their new product. You will be creating and updating a range of software and hardware documentation including user guides, installation guides, API documentation, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides. These documents will be produced as online content, so experience updating web content is essential.

Our client is looking for:

  • At least two years experience as a software technical author.
  • Experience using MadCap Flare, or the ability to learn new authoring tools quickly.
  • Experience creating online content and uploading content on to a web platform.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand highly complex technical ideas and explain them in simple, clear and concise terms.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to learn new skills.
  • The ability to work with technical experts in a variety of fields at all business levels.
  • An understanding of one or more of the following; HTML, CSS, or version control.


  • A degree in a relevant subject eg Technical Communications, English Literature, English Language.
  • Experience creating videos and using Camtasia.
  • Experience using InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator.

This role will be based onsite in their office near Cambridge. Their offices are within a short walk of a train station and there is parking available onsite.
