Supply Chain Manager - Convenience Retailer - (6 Months Contract) - Job Summary

My client are a national multi award winning leader in the retail market operating for over 40 years with sites throughout the UK, the main driving force for the company has always been the consumer. Please note this is a 6 month contract with the opportunity of going to permanent.

This role is responsible for leading the stock purchasing my clients warehouses, maximising product availability to whilst maintaining stock to the most efficient levels. The role works closely with the Buying teams and Retail teams to understand the sensitivities of a wholesale pull model in a highly promotional driven environment to ensure the validity of forecasts and buying programmes constantly remain accurate. The role holder is to manage both the day-to-day operational requirements but also to provide strategic vision and direction to best practice and innovation within Demand and Supply Planning.

Supply Chain Manager - Convenience Retailer - (6 Months Contract) - Role Responsibility

Responsible for establishing demand and forecasting process at SKU level
To highlight any threats, planning issues or bottlenecks and propose/initiate immediate actions to resolve
Monitor logistics supply flows to the warehouse; ensuring operational efficiency within agreed capacity parameters
Ensure that areas that you are responsible for are performed by individuals with the appropriate knowledge, skills and expertise and that competence is maintained and assessed
Constantly review retailer demand profiles on a daily/weekly basis ensuring the appropriate action is taken on identified variances.
Ensure the timeliness and accuracy in promotion plan development, upload, execution and monitoring to harmonise physical delivery with commercial objectives and Retailer sentiment.
Delivery of Business product availability targets
Delivery of Business stockholding targets
Development, review and publication of fourteen-day forecasts to all key suppliers
Be a key influencer in product range reviews

Supply Chain Manager - Convenience Retailer - (6 Months Contract) - The Ideal Candidate

Operational management experience within supply planning warehouse environment ideally within the FMCG or Food environment
Knowledge and experience of a Sales and Operations Planning environment
Proven team management, network and influencing skills
Excellent understanding and experience of Business Change programmes
Understand budget management and have experience in the delivery of tangible P&L results
Understand how to work at a strategic level with senior stakeholders as well as hands on involvement
