We are currently representing a role on behalf of our client based in Leicester.

As a QA, you must work with minimal direction and where necessary challenge non conformity up to the point of stopping production where a Food Safety of serious Quality problem has been identified.

Reporting to the Leicester Quality Team, you will be responsible for:

Driving forward Technical & Quality standards in the factory
Supporting operations with Quality / Technical standard and issues
Improving audit scores / results
Supporting site food safety, quality and legal agenda
Auditing the factory to ensure Technical & Quality standards are maintained / reporting of audit data
Positive release of product against defined quality attribute standards
Organisation and completion / recording of weekly management organoleptic panels
Raising and reporting of non conformances / concessions where products and processes do not comply with internal specifications or procedures. Investigation and involvement in root cause closure / trending
Collection of laboratory samples against a schedule
Completion of swabbing activities to defined schedule
Supporting Quality Team Leader with traceability exercises / complete traceability studies as required
Raw material intake checks based on risk assessment
Packaging intake checks based on risk assessment against a packaging library
Root cause investigations (ad hoc, quality, food safety, legality, complaints etc.)
General office duties as required and PC input
Publishing of weekly data to notice boards
Aid and drive cross functional customer complaint investigations
Attend operational / technical meetings as required to give Quality department input.
Training activities as required
Challenging the status quo and driving site standards forward

You will be expected to maintain close & effective working relationships with relevant personnel across multiple functions, namely Operations (all levels)

The successful candidate will have:

• Ideally a Level 2 Food Safety or above
• Ability to work to clear directions and with under own initiatives where required (i.e. investigations)
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good organisational, project management and communication skills.
• Basic PC skills (Microsoft Office applications)
• Good team player
• Able to build relationships across the key functions.

The job holder’s objectives are decided with their manager during normal performance review meetings
