Role: Power Bi Developer

Salary: £45,000-£55,000

Location: Central London

An exciting opportunity has arisen in a rapidly growing software house, who work within the finance sector. The Power Bi role is designed to help us extend and improve a suite of PowerBI charts/metrics/indicators for our CRM products and to work with customers building bespoke solutions where needed, so candidates who are comfortable working with customers is important. And whilst they will give guidance on what kind of charts/metrics/kpis are expected by our clients, the candidate will need to work from the bottom up, from identifying and designing the various requirements through to implementing them. The sucessful Power BI Developer will be part of a larger agile team and will be expected to participate in the day to day agile development process.

Due to continued growth in their BI team and services, they are looking to add a creative Power Bi Developer to their IT team in which they pride themselves on service delivery. You will be joining a busy, established team with the opportunity to work in a vibrant, varied role.

Power Bi Developer Role:

To join the existing Senior Programmer/Analyst and rest of the IT team in ensuring the effective and timely design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of new software in the firm; to review and improve current arrangements to improve efficiency and provide a better service.

Power Bi Developer Requirements:

Assisting in the delivery of the PowerBI platform which involves creating high quality enterprise dashboards, managing security, workspaces, and refresh schedules
Assisting in the maintenance of SQL Server Analysis Services Tabular models. Experience in PowerShell Scripting is advantageous.
Strong t-SQL skills for the creation of reports from the data-warehouse to feed into data models.
Using DAX to create measures and calculated columns in a data model

Key skill for the Power BI Developer:

Strong SQL & T-SQL experience and able to prove
Using DAX to create measures and calculated columns in a data model
Databases (Microsoft SQL Server), data warehouses and data processing technologies (Hadoop, Google BigQuery and DataLab)
Data visualization and exploration tools (Power BI)
