Job Overview:

McDermott is seekingan Associate Immigration Specialist in Houston, TX. TheImmigration Specialist will partner with HR Business Partners and Managers tosupport the immigration needs of all the businesses and provide immigrationguidance across McDermott. The Immigration Specialist will handle visa, trackcase files and keep them moving through the process in a timely manner whileutilizing the companys authorized immigration vendor. In addition, theImmigration Specialist will develop best practices to improve our level ofservice and efficiency.


- Support the US-inboundimmigration needs of the business, file casework with the vendor, maintainingtheir visa status and where applicable managing the permanent residency process

- Partner with HR tomaintain compliance with immigration law. Where applicable, support filing newvisa petition in line with associated change(s)

- Serve as theimmigration specialist for the business and provide strategic solutions,working with outside counsel for more complex cases

- Advise key stakeholderson US immigration regulation, alerts, updates, procedures, etc. to support thebusiness

- Develop and leverageexternal network to keep abreast of US immigration updates and trends in orderto benchmark and develop alternative solutions to immigration challenges

- Monthly invoicing foroutside vendors

- Maintain monthlybilling and status reports

- Maintain immigrationfolders on all visa and Green Card cases

- Proactively communicatewith employees and other relevant contacts regarding the status of their visacases and extensions

- Create and provideimmigration training presentations to interested parties

- Provide excellentcustomer service and maintain high standards for all work performed

Basic Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in a related field

- Minimum of 2-5 years of directly related experience in the immigration field and with processing of US work visas

- Strong knowledge and understanding of all types of US work visa categories and in depth understanding of employment based green card process

Basic Qualifications:

- Ability to work as ateam member as well as act as team leader.

- Maintain keycompetencies associated with the HR function

- Communication andpresentation skills, both written and spoken.

- Computer literate onMicrosoft programs: Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Project.

- Must be highlyorganized and possess a strong attention to detail

- Ability to multi-taskand prioritize effectively

- Collaborativeprofessional with great relationship and communication skills

- Ability to work wellwith a diverse group of people, including Human Resources, Legal, GlobalMobility, Recruiting, Hiring Managers, and candidates from countries throughoutthe world, as well as their families

- International workexperiences a plus
