Position: Procurement Specialist

Location: Cheshire

Salary: £30k

Type: Permanent

I have a position with an exceptional engineering company who design and manufacture bespoke components for various industries and as well as offering refurbishment services to there customers.

• Promote and share the company vision, objectives and values.

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies in alignment with corporate-led operational strategies and as directed by the company and designated line Manager.

• Tactical execution and procurement of high-quality goods and services while driving cost reduction, consistent on-time delivery and effective cash management through effective negotiation and supplier oversight.

• Assure compliance with and actively enforce Sourcing policies to meet or exceed business targets and customer needs.

• Assist in development and implementation of supplier scorecards and monitor supplier performance in conjunction with Supplier Development, targeting improved supplier performance.

• Ensure any quality issues have the appropriate focus from Quality while supporting issue mitigation activities.

• Manage major purchasing assignments with limited supervision.

• Manages relationships between the company and suppliers, both current & potential, with the highest ethics.

• Reconcile discrepancies between supplier shipments and contractual obligations.

• Execute RFQs and coordinate supplier selection decisions based on cost, quality, cycle, on-time delivery and effective cash management.

• Engage with Expediters to ensure that material/services will be delivered on schedule, at negotiated price and meet required quality standards.

• Solicit and evaluate proposals employing appropriate negotiation, cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizations; implement purchase contracts following applicable company policy and procedure.

• Evaluate current and anticipated requirements, determine potential sources, obtain bids, and plan programs to meet business needs.

• Serve as primary interface between the suppliers and Engineering and Project Management for any sourced components.

• Implement sustainable processes for prompt invoice resolution to mitigate supplier disruptions.

• Maintain purchase records.

• Provide the Operations and Projects teams with details on project deliverables and purchase order execution.

• Assist Business Development department with costs for new designs and concepts.

• Maintain supplier database and raise improvements where applicable.

Qualifications and experience:

Minimum 4 years’ experience in a procurement role.

Full UK driving license.

Ability and willingness to travel.

Formal qualification in CIPS required.

Exposure to manufacturing techniques and general engineering an advantage.

Ideally have operating software experience across MS Office, PDF Writer, MS Access, Document control, database , QAD and iPurchase

Candidate will be skilled across written and oral comms as well Organised and methodical.

You will be a Self-motivated Team player with a Flexible, Proactive approach to problem solving and open to change with a keen eye and attention to detail. Key skills for decision making and delegation

Your experience will have a Finance Appreciation for Invoicing, Cost accounting, Cash flow and forecasting, Budget control, Time value of money. All this will be covered with your Business acumen across, Negotiation, dispute resolution, Tendering, Planning and scheduling, Document control and
