Hygiene Section Leader – Boston, Lincolnshire

£24000 to £25,000 Per Annum

We are the leading provider of fresh prepared food in the UK, with an international presence in the US and China. Our 19,000 employees operate from 39 locations, developing and producing innovative food for a wide variety of occasions and budgets. In the UK, we work with leading grocery retailers, focusing on their own label brands.

Cucina Sano is based in Boston, Lincolnshire. It employs over 700 people and specialises in making chilled Italian ready meals and modern deli products for a dedicated customer. It is part of the Bakkavor Meals sector which has eight factories in the UK.

A fantastic opportunity for a Hygiene Section Leader to join the team at our food manufacturing facility at Bourne Prepared Produce to manage a section of the factory successfully. You will have an understanding of the profit and loss account and must understand the key drivers of variances linked to the department, i.e. chemical usage. You will have experience of managing and motivating teams so you will need previous experience in a Supervisory/Management position within a similar industry.

Job Duties

1 Health & Safety – To encourage a safe working environment for all employees in their area by supporting and enforcing standards as set out in the Group Health and Safety policy. Lead by example by ensuring established standards of hygiene, quality and safety are met.

2 Quality Standards – Ensure team are performing to quality standards, ensuring shift audits are carried out daily and necessary action taken.

3 Performance Management – Manage performance and attendance of the team including first level formal written disciplinary action, performance review, absence management (including return to work procedures).

4 Training & Development - Ensure operatives and team leaders are coached and trained in all aspects of their role, including health and safety standards.

5 Development - Work with other departments to identify / investigate and resolve hygiene issues. Drive forward new technologies of a class leading hygiene department.

6 Continuous Improvement - To ensure the delivery of agreed KPIs within the area through the team, making sure that KPIs are understood and systems are in place to collect the necessary data to measure performance against the agreed KPIs.

7 Adherence to Plan through Team - Ensure optimal utilisation of resources to ensure the cleaning schedule is followed and work carried out effectively and efficiently.

8 Communication - Ensure mechanisms are in place and supported to provide effective communication, upwards, downwards and sideways.

9 9 Recruitment - In conjunction with HR participate in staff recruitment processes and induction.

10 10 Administration - Carry out necessary administrative tasks and produce data / reports as required including T&A, holiday management and any other relevant data.

11 11 SHE - Carryout organisational SHE responsibilities and objectives (HS005)

You will ideally have qualifications in HACCP, Food Safety L3 or above and IOSH Managing Safely
