Overview



The corporate development team is responsible for identifying and evaluating growth opportunities, along with coordinating other corporate activities at PennyMac. Members of the corporate development team work closely with C-Level executives and upper management to support corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships and corporate initiatives.



Job Description

Develop and drive long-term projects to advance corporate opportunities, working closely with business lines and corporate functions (e.g., capital markets, finance, accounting, legal) to achieve objectives

Manage and develop junior team members within Corporate Development

-



Prepare financial analyses and presentation materials for the Boards of Directors/Trustees (quarterly reporting and special topics)

-



Lead cross-functional project teams analyzing issues impacting various parts of the corporation

-



Manage cross-functional teams for opportunity evaluation/idea generation, cross-functional planning, due diligence, negotiation, execution and integration

-



Responsible for relationships with external parties (rating agencies, investments banks, FHLB and other selected agencies)

-



Partners with business line and corporate function leaders as well as external parties (e.g., investment bankers, outside counsel, rating agencies, investors) regarding corporate development transactions. These include capital raising, mergers and acquisitions and strategic initiatives

Support corporate financial forecasting activities and modeling

-



Develop materials, presentations and ad-hoc analyses for key stakeholders

-



Perform and review business and financial analysis, and provide related support for corporate development projects

-



Prepare formal updates and proposals for board presentation related to strategic transactions and corporate initiatives

-



Provide regular updates to executive management on industry updates and competitive developments

-



Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

Bachelors Degree

-



Minimum 5+ years experience

-



Direct experience in corporate development, corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting a plus

-



Post-graduate degree/certification (MBA, CPA, CFA) a plus

-



Strong organizational and project management skills, including ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

-



Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams

-



Demonstrated ability to work well with executive management

-



Demonstrated ability to define, analyze, research, and communicate issues

-



Complex financial modeling experience

-



Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team

-



Must be a self-starter with strong analytical skills and attention to detail

-



Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

-



Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel skills
