Production Mechanic III will run one (1) or two (2) resource types (like lines) within a Work Center or on the production floor. They will serve as the subject matter expert for their resource types. This includes responsibility for running the resource, owning all preventative maintenance on the resource, hitting resource KPIs, and troubleshooting the resource while adhering to all safety and quality requirements. The Mechanic III will train others on the resource as needed.

In addition, they will support other areas of the business as required assigned.

Proficiency (35%) - One (1) or Two (2) Resource Types:

Preventative Maintenance - Execute end to end PM process:

Complete all PMs attached to the resource

Ability to take apart and put back together the resource

Document entire PM process

Own entire PM process for the resource

Order parts as needed

Communicate Issues

Follow up and prioritize needs

Running the Resource:

Setup resource for efficient run and complete all start up activities (Ex. Setup sheets, taking weights, fills)

Complete all documentation in support of the job

Complete all close out activities for the job (Ex. Washes)

Complete all requirements of the resource changeover

Hand off a well running line that meets all production and quality requirements

Efficiency Targets and Goals:

Understand and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly goals during shift crossover

Demonstrates line teamwork across shifts

Meet material variance standards (ex. Scrap)

Meet QA standards (ex. Rejects, deviations, investigations, etc.)

Support Continuous Improvement needs.

Identify improvement projects on line(s) and responsible for ownership of project

Technical Skill (35%) - One (1) or Two (2) Resource Types:

Troubleshoot the resource:

Proactively identify and fix issues

Problem solve effectively and sustainably within the means of the equipment

Demonstrate learnings and apply to future similar issues


Provide basic training skills for resource type capability including technical skill and soft skill capability (ex. Train new mechanics, Other Mechanics, Technical Operators, etc. on resource within the scope of their job description)

Perform all required quality checks as described in our plant SOPs.

Understanding of PPM and defect prevention practices.

Ability to resolve issues in a tactful and diplomatic manner.

Possess basic personal leadership skills.

May be required to handle containers of hazardous waste.

Ability to work in an environment that may be oily, dusty andor noisy.

Required to have and maintain a good attendance record.

Able to work overtime and all shifts.

Proficient in MS Office.

Ability to read and write in the English language.

Basic math skills.

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

1 year of experience in a maintenance or mechanic related field or equivalent experience
