PSR Solutions are currently looking for an experienced Materials Buyer for an established residential developer in West Sussex to join on a freelance basis. This office-based role will report into the Commercial Manager, closely liaise with the site team and project coordinator to ensure that materials are ordered to specification and on time ensuring a smooth build process.

The Buyer will need to have previous experience within the construction industry, ideally with a residential developer. However, applicants from a contracting background will also be considered. Duties will include, but not limited to:

* Review and develop reliable manufacturers and suppliers for materials.

* Assist with keeping the site specification document up-to-date with new products.

* Negotiate rebate schemes with manufacturers and suppliers.

* Schedule material quantities in accordance with site drawings and specification.

* Issue and analyse competitive tenders from appropriate materials suppliers.

* Propose materials orders against set budgets following company procedure.

* Receive, record and resolve all material invoice queries from the Accounts Department.

* Monitor and report variations in material orders.

* Stock reporting including site procedures reporting

Applicants will need to have previous experience, proficient IT skills including Excel and Office, strong negotiation skills, and be an excellent communicator.
