Engineering Construction Project Manager

For End User Client (Developer)

Our Client is a Major International Developer. They are looking for a Senior Construction Project Manager to control construction work within their Hospitality Division.

This is key role within the company. Our client is specifically looking for a degree level qualified individual with extensive experience overseeing construction or refurbishment of large Hotels and / or Hospitality related projects.

Our Client are responsible for the investment and development of some of the largest and highest specification Hotels, restaurants and Hospitality venues in the country. This is unique and interesting work. As Project Manager you will be controlling the Main Contractor on allocated projects. This role is that of the Client's Engineering representative, ensuring the Engineering Contractor performs according to project requirements and generally acting as liaison between the developer and contractor on Engineering Issues overseeing construction on large scale capital expenditure projects.

This role will be based in our client's state of the art offices close to the M25 in North West London. Some Travel will be involved in both the UK and Europe. The package and benefits package for this position is extensive and market leading.

We are looking for a Construction Project Manager with extensive knowledge of construction, Mechanical, Electrical and related site disciplines and specific knowledge of construction in the Hospitality Industry.

Duties Involve:

* Lead & manage the performance of personnel

* Co-ordinate design and construction procedures

* Monitor & oversee the execution of hospitality projects

* Manage the accurate delivery of forecast cash flows

* Inspect hotels and other venues and develop Property Improvement Plans (PIPS)

* Negotiate scope of works with stakeholders

* Oversee the development and approval of projects

* Coordinate the submittal and design approvals

* Develop and prepare master planning options

* Negotiate scope of works

* Oversee the development and approval of projects

* Coordinate the submittal and design approvals

* Support the development of design, programme and costs.

* Manage the approval of works

* Report regularly on the progress and risks of projects

* Initiate and develop project briefs including master plan options for feasibility analysis.

* Conduct & complete a technical review of dilapidation obligations.

We are looking for someone with:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others

* Ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritize in a dynamic environment.

* Extensive working experience with various spreadsheets and word processing software applications (Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS Outlook MS PowerPoint) as well as possess the required skills to develop customised management reports and financial models sufficient to analyse complicated project structures in a timely manner

* Working knowledge of the hospitality industry including the legal and regulatory environment, property management, sales and marketing, understanding industry contacts and experience with complicated financial interrelationships unique to the industry

* Ability to manage change, resolve conflicts and ensure collaboration within teams and/or units; includes maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity.

* Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

* Strong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems.

* Ability to advocate and implement professional development for self, direct reports and others, including capability to work with peers and other resources to provide development and mentoring opportunities; includes adherence to organisation’s standards for performance feedback.

* Ability to assimilate new concepts and practices into the position and the department

* Budget development and management skills, including the ability to track expenses against commitments, and assist in the development of annual budgets.

* Knowledge of business mathematics, including ability to calculate percentage changes and averages/weighted averages as well as be able to understand/manipulate basic spreadsheets.

* Work independently includes the ability to recognise when there is a need for involvement of other teams/peers and capability to effectively facilitate that collaboration.

* Ability to provide effective performance feedback to subordinates and work to ensure the peak productivity of the department and all reports, direct or indirect.
