The primary responsibility of the Network Technician is to provide deployment of evolving network solutions for the Convention Network Services department. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.

- Ensure that network services meet corporate and client expectations and meet deadlines.



- Deploy temporary network cabling and network equipment to facilitate the needs of conventions.



- Log changes and connections made to the network.



- Communicate project status and delivery information to management.



- Interface with internal departments, clients and vendors to resolve issues.



- Conduct routine maintenance to convention network to maintain system integrity.



- Build network cables for temporary use in convention areas.



- Become fluent in Mandalay Bay convention/ballroom spaces and event venues as it relates to network infrastructure.



- Stay current in network enterprise solutions, vendor products, and new technologies.



- Be an active CNS ambassador for the company and within our industry.



- Perform all other job related duties as requested.



Required:

- Must be at least 21 years of age.



- Associates degree in Information System, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience.



- At least 1 year of previous networking experience.



- At least 1 year of experience working on Cisco or Enterprise grade equipment.



- Ability to review trace routes and device logs to effectively problem diagnose.



- Excellent customer skills.



- Have interpersonal skill to deal effectively with all business contacts.



- Professional appearance and demeanor.



- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.



- High school diploma or equivalent.



- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tool Suite



- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both in written and oral form.



Preferred:

- At least2 years of previous networking experience.



- Previous experience working in a similar resort or convention setting.
