Commercial Manager – National – Competitive Salary + package

Roma Black are working with a leading independent consultancy, looking to hire a Commercial Manager environment and Planning experience. This is a national role to provide support to multiple UK offices. The organisation has clients within a number of sectors including environmental, water, transport and property.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will liaise with staff of all levels with regards to all aspects of contract, commercial and project management. The area of design and site implementation work will be a particular focus for the Environments and Planning (E&P) division. You will be responsible for the effective development of pre-qualifications and tenders for large projects as well as reviewing and agreeing contractual terms for the business and their clients.

The majority of the role will consist of:
- Working with regional project teams to provide and deliver professional services with regard to the contractual and commercial aspects of environmental consultancy project work.
- Assisting with researching and cascading the latest contractual guidance, best practice and implement methods of working to improve the business’ efficiency and accuracy. - Identifying market trends and obtaining new opportunities and develop the strategy for bidding for work based upon a network of industry contacts.

Experience & Skills required:
- Experienced in Commercial, Contract and Project Management – ideally within the environmental consultancy sector (although not essential)
- Accredited Project Manager for the NEC3 form of contract
- Strong understanding of the standard forms of contract, methods of measurement and common specifications (ideally within the environmental consultancy sector)
- Chartered professional member of at least one recognised Institution and member of the Association of Project Management
- Proficient user of MS Project and Primavera programming software
- The ability to advise on the most technically and economically appropriate solution on a project by project basis

The post-holder will be able to choose a 'base' office from locations across Hertfordshire, Cheshire, North West, South West and Central England.
