I am looking for new individuals to join our rapidly growing team of one to one study skills tutors in Manchester

Specialist one to one study skills tutors primarily provide support for students with a Specific Learning Difficulty or an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The issues which some students might have in acquiring, recalling and retaining information in written and spoken language as well as the range of memory, organisational, attention and numeracy difficulties that students with specific learning difficulties or an Autism Spectrum Disorder often face when working in an HE context.


Flexible working hours – you can choose how many

28 days holiday pay pro rata – perfect for the summer holidays and Christmas breaks

£25-£28 per hour – you will receive this rate, plus your benefits such as holiday pay

You will help your students with:

Developing their skills to learn independently

Set out clear goals and timescales for achieving them

Time Management

Prioritising workload

You will work closely with Randstad regarding the needs of individual students, ensuring that any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. You will be expected to act professionally and maintain confidentiality within your role at all times, sharing all relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best possible service to your students.


This is a specialist role, so requires specialist skills:

Experience of working with adults with SPLD in higher education is essential for this role, as well as a related qualification.

It is essential for you to hold/be willing to apply for a professional membership with one of the following organisations:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths whilst maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship

Accurate spelling and grammar skills

Good organisational skills
