Cleansing Operative – Belfast

We are currently recruiting for cleansing operative role for a local council in the Belfast area.

The main job role is to be responsible for waste collection and street cleansing. You will be operating collection systems and equipment. Collecting, loading or storing any segregated waste or street cleansing . Assisting the driver in the safe manoeuvring of the vehicle on the round and assisting with mechanical sweepers. Assisting with snow clearance, gritting footpaths and sweeping leaves and also using the radio and telecommunication facilities when required.

When applying for this role it is essential that you are able to demonstrate, by proving personal and specific examples, that you have at least six months’ relevant experience of each of the following:

• Cleaning an outdoor area

• Dealing with members of the public, in a face-face environment

• Dealing with health and safety issues, including the safe use of machinery and/or equipment.

You must also be able to demonstrate, providing personal and specific examples, that you posses the following skills and attributes:

• Communication Skills

• Customer care skills

• Team-working skills

• Work-planning skills

• A basic understanding of health and safety

Working hours- 37 hours per work. 7:30-15:30 on a rota.
