Independently plan a nd provide professional nursing care for patientsin accordance with phys ician orders and established policies andprocedures. Provide nursing ser vices to patients and families inaccordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North CarolinaBoard of Nursing.

Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physiciano rders and established policies and procedures. Use professional nursingj udgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of thepati ents baseline needs and response to care.Delegate tasks and supervise t he activities of other licensed andunlicensed care providers.Assist othe r nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and actas team leade r or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unitas assigned.M onitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment ofcare including equipment and material resources.Participate in own professio nal developmentby maintaining requiredcompetencies, identifying learnin g needs and seeking appropriateassistance or educational offerings.Act a s preceptor and support the development of other staff and formallearner s.Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performan ceimprovement opportunities and in performance improvement ************* rform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Minimum Qualifications



Education

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelors degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriateBSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.

Experience

Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a managers discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
