Position Overview



The concept designer is responsible for helping build 8 seasonal rigs a year that drive the aesthetic direction for the Womens Polo apparel collections. This role will also be responsible for driving the visual presentation of finished product in the showroom at the conclusion of each season (4 showrooms a year). This role will also be responsible for driving the styling/ visual presentation of finished product in the showroom at the conclusion of each season. This individual will be a part of the overall design research, styling as well as the management of outward facing brand presentation.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities



- Collaborate with the Concept team and senior creative leaders to build seasonal Rigs.

- Extensive image research to come up with moods/ themes/ inspiration

- Pulling of vintage garments, accessories, textiles and design garments from internal Ralph Lauren Library

- Utilize the Ralph Lauren Library for digital and physical seasonal research

- Inspiration shopping for vintage/ new garments/ textiles/ accessories, etc

- Research trends, print, color and silhouette to drive seasonal direction

- Work with fabric and trim teams to build initial color palate and fabric boards

- Work with internal design teams to keep alignment across Polo

- Collaborate with product design teams on creating seasonal concept protos

- Help maintain organization of rig room and showroom

- Styling out looks and visual merchandising of product in showroom

- Work with concept team to pull inspiration for licensee product

- Assist in styling for marketing and advertising initiatives as well as special projects, as needed



Experience, Skills & Knowledge



- Proficient in Microsoft/ Adobe

- Design/ Art/ Creative Background

- Fashion Degree is not a must
