Our client is a global, dynamic and high growth fintech that is rapidly becoming a global market leader. Due to continued success and expansion they are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager – GDPR SME to join their team.

The Project Manager is responsible for the end to end leadership and management of the Company’s ongoing data governance project, ensuring that the Company has a fully embedded data governance framework incorporating a GDPR compliant personal information management system. This will involve consultancy as subject matter expert, leadership of business work streams and the proactive identification, reporting, management and resolution of requirements, solutions, risks and issues throughout the full project lifecycle.

The role requires the Project Manager to have detailed knowledge and experience of data governance best practice and data privacy requirements. It will also require dynamic leadership of project work streams and close interaction with business owners, sponsors, senior leadership team, the Board and committees.

This is a business facing role and requires the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Project Management

* Lead, direct and manage the delivery of the project with oversight from the project steering group.

* Provide guidance and recommendations as subject matter expert to project steering on the project structure, implementation ongoing management.

* Source and on-board appropriate third party systems/software to support the implementation as agreed with project steering.

* Be responsible for and manage project governance, reporting and stakeholder communications as agreed with project steering.

* Design and implement project scope, plan, deliverables and quality criteria as agreed with project steering.

* Track and manage project timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies and escalations as agreed with project steering.

* Ensure that operational readiness activities are undertaken and that appropriate training and handover to business owners is completed.

Team Leadership

* Lead, manage and motivate project participants, communicating project progress, and ensuring all team members take accountability for delivery.

* Provide guidance, advice and SME support to project participants and business owners.

* Embed a culture of continuous improvement on the project, support process improvement initiatives, and identify new process improvements.

* Provide training and feedback and share best practice and lessons learned with project participants and stakeholders.

Experience Required

* Significant experience in leading the delivery of data governance projects.

* In depth knowledge of relevant legislation including GDPR, privacy and information security industry standards and best practice and practical experience of their implementation in a business context.

* Previous experience of the financial services industry is desirable.

* Relevant professional/ project management qualification is desirable.

* Self-starter, able to work independently.

* Strong leadership skills.

* Good communication and persuasive skills.

* Experience of managing stakeholders to executive levels.

* Relevant IT skills required.
