Contract type: Permanent, full time 37 hrs.

Salary: £23,100 per annum

29 days holidays (with additional bank holidays)

What is the role?

The AB56 Futures service is being developed to support the ELCC expansion programme and will focus on parent returners to the workforce and young people who have faced considerable disadvantage and who may face a range of issues/barriers affecting their ability to maintain and sustain employment. AB56 Futures will provide a tailored family support service to support parent returners to the labour market. Each person is assigned a dedicated key worker to support them through the duration of the programme.

The programme is delivered in Moray.

How will you make a difference?

As a Children and Families Practitioner you will support the service we provide to families and young people by:

* Recruit participants onto parenting and family support programmes, ensuing equality of opportunity through this process

* Undertake assessment of each participant prior to support commencing to identify any issues/barriers they may face and how we can support them. Complete all relevant risk assessments and paperwork required in relation to case files and support.

* Monitor participant progress at set intervals throughout the programme, putting in additional support where required

* Support Employment Facilitator colleagues to deliver induction, compliance and VQ qualifications including employability and personal development as part of the various programmes in our portfolio

* Organise, devise and plan parenting and family support interventions and programmes content in conjunction with Training and external training providers where required

* Access relevant training and employment opportunities for young people, parents and families

* Maintain awareness of Health & Safety regulations at all times to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants and staff

* Provide service/support to participants who do not complete the programme to address the reasons why and to source an alternative positive destination

* Manage a caseload of participants effectively and take responsibility for prioritising workload, own time management and completion of all relevant paperwork, case notes and internal databases to set timescales

* Provide mentoring support to participants on caseload to include all aspects of family support (routines, boundaries, budgeting ,nutrition etc. Work as part of a team to forward plan activity of the project, organising any equipment/materials required for sessions and planning the week ahead to ensure adequate cover for group, site visits, appointments and general admin/paperwork

* Attend relevant steering groups/meetings and market services of Family Support Service to external partners and agencies to raise profile of AB56 Futures and increase future referrals

* Support Employment Facilitator colleagues to secure work placements, work experience and volunteering opportunities for the users involved in our portfolio of services

* Build up and maintain knowledge of current family support issues and concerns, trends and various sources of funding available for families to access.

Ensure all compliance paperwork is obtained, accurately completed and submitted to enable draw down of payment if required.

* Experience of facilitating 1-1 and group sessions with people facing multiple barriers.

* Flexibility to work across Moray. Including evenings and weekends if required.

* Knowledge and understanding of the issues and barriers for young people and parent returners to employment.
