PSI are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Quality Assurance Team Leader to work for a specialist Food Manufacturer based in the North of Wales.
The role of Quality Assurance Team Leader is permanent (subject to a probation period) and offers a salary of £22,000 to £26,000 (dependant on experience and qualifications held)
This will be a 40 hour working week (8am to 4pm Mon to Fri), but flexibility will be required to cover shifts during holiday periods
Reporting to the QA Manager, you will support production in regards to understanding, implementing and maintaining good manufacturing practices in both sites in accordance with the company procedures and BRC standards.
Main duties & responsibilities for the Quality Assurance Team Leader:
Maintaining a safe working environment and safe working practices at all time
Ensuring all products are produced to agreed specification, within company HACCP & BRC systems
Providing guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to a group of Quality Assurance Technicians to meet the site goals and objectives
To manage and assist with the development of an effective quality assurance system, ensuring that Quality and Food Safety are appropriately managed to meet set objectives.
To ensure that all finished product meet agreed specifications and investigate corrective actions in circumstances that the specification is outside the agreed parameters.
Coordinate all external laboratory testing requirements, documentation of results, communication and corrective action of results which deviate from agreed specification.
Work as part of the HACCP and internal auditing team and assist during customer and 3rd party visits.
Key Skills for the Quality Assurance Team Leader:
Must have worked in a Team Leader or Supervisory position previously
Must hold a Food Science or Technology qualification or experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment.
Strong experience and/or knowledge of food safety standards (e.g. BRC & Retailer Standards)
Basic Food Hygiene, Level 3 HACCP & Internal Auditing qualification
Proficient in IT tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
Full UK driving licence
