This position within the AML Analytics team of the Corporate Risk Management is responsible for supporting analytical and data requests of the AML compliance programs. This role includes, but not limited to, leading a team of analysts on AML analytical projects, providing qualitative and quantitative analysis for developing new or updating existing thresholds and rules, monitor trends, assisting with implementation or improvement if the programs or systems; acting as liaison among AML Analytics, business partners and vendors to support or evaluate the analytical tools and systems. This individual will also be required to support/participate in data quality efforts and analytical support for on-going or expansion of AML programs.



RESPONSIBILITIES



- Motivates and mentors the team of analysts to grow their skills and careers, focused on creating a nurturing environment that encourages innovation and continual learning.

- Builds relationships with business partners. Allocates resources and prioritizes projects. Ensures the projects are delivered in a timely manner.

- Maintains a high level of competency in statistical and analytical principles, tools and techniques, and supports the advancement of the best-in-class analytical capabilities to unlock new capabilities and performance, and quickly adapts to modeling and advanced analytics techniques. Demonstrates technical knowledge in analytics tools.

- Manage projects including model design, data preparation, model development, testing, implementation, documentation, and on-going monitoring & refinement.

- Lead research and advanced statistical analyses to identify patterns, industry risks, or any complex, critical issues concerning the trends associated with AML.

- Provide data support including data extraction, aggregation and quality check, lead simulation and ad-hoc analysis.

- Monitor rule/ model performance by recommending, designing, producing & maintaining meaningful, robust metrics and reports identifying key performance indicators.

- Collaborate with technology partners and vendors, prepare implementation documents and participate in implementation of new or updated tools, and thresholds/rules.

- Work with Model Risk Management (MRM) and Internal Audit teams to handle model risk management related tasks.

- Manage & lead projects and provide guidance to junior team members.

- Act as subject matter expert, provide innovative and new ideas to improve existing processes by identifying and evaluating new data elements, advanced analytics and methodology, new techniques and tools.



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS



- M.S. degree or above with emphasis in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative fields

- Minimum 4 years working experience in analytics or technical fields, prefer in financial services industry, or a regulatory agency or law firm involving compliance issues

- Proficiency with statistical and computer software, or other analytical tools such as SAS, R, SQL, Microsoft Word/Excel/Power Point, knowledge in UNIX or PC environment for data extraction, reporting and modeling analyses

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization

- Ability to work independently as well as provide guidance to junior team members

- Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to prioritize, deliver against tight deadlines and follow through on completion of complex, high-profile projects

- Knowledge in UNIX or PC environment for data extraction, reporting also preferred

- Proven knowledge and expertise in business and analytics, machine learning background and working experience preferred

- AML/OFAC related knowledge and/or working experience preferred
