What we need:
Carrington West are pleased to be assisting our client to find experienced and talented laboratory technicians for a Construction and Highways material research laboratory.

What they do:
The Laboratory provides a comprehensive testing service for civil engineering materials and workmanship. The lab check compliance against appropriate specifications and also help determine maintenance priorities through the collection of highway and material condition data.

What you will do:
Working in the Laboratory, on a construction site or on the highway, you'll be responsible for sampling, testing and reporting on the quality of various building and engineering materials and associated workmanship. You'll also undertake visual and mechanical surveys of highway and construction site attributes and condition.

What you will need to succeed:
Previous lab experience working with engineering materials such as asphalts, concretes and bitumen.
You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths, English and/or Science subjects, you'll have experience of working in a technical environment and knowledge of basic quality control procedures.

You must be able to meet the travel requirements and physical demands of the role. This includes some lifting and use of your own vehicle with license is imperative.

What you will get in return:
Working in fantastic location with an already talented and experienced team, you will be paid on a weekly basis from our agency. Rates start at £15.00ph going up to £20.00ph and an increase can be negotiated for more experienced applications. This role is consider OUTSIDE IR35 and use of a public limited company has been approved.
