An established and successful design and manufacturing business in the Southend-On-Sea area of Essex is currently seeking CNC Miller/Programmer with proven offline CAD/CAM software experience, including the use of Radan.

What does the role involve?

Responsible for producing programs and fixture tooling to manufacture aerospace products on vertical and horizontal milling machines.

* The creation and modification of CNC programmes that maximise efficiencies on applicable machine tools whilst maintaining quality, and robustness to cope with different batch sizes.

* Structuring the above to satisfy product cost targets, departmental schedules and safe working practices.

* Design and amendment of fixture tooling solutions to support current or new CNC methods of manufacture, ease of use and reduction of potential operator error.

* Develop, maintain and version-control detailed and comprehensive process instructions, and ensure that relevant training is delivered to production staff.

* Work in liaison with Production Management/Control, Process Planning and Manufacturing Engineering teams to correctly consider and align with activities such as validations, process planning and new product development

* Responsible for ensuring that:

* the working environment is safe for the activities to be carried out in that area

* all Company Health and Safety policies are being correctly observed

* To ensure all Company Rules and Regulations are met,

* To carry out any other task where reasonable and relevant when required.

Is this you?

* Apprenticeship trained in Engineering or multiple years’ machining experience

* Machine Shop manufacturing experience including setting and proving using CNC Milling machines

* Radan trained/experienced.

* Other offline CAD/CAM software experience and/or Edgecam training highly desirable

* Appreciation of programming and codes

* Understanding of various CNC languages (Mazak / ISO)

* Understanding of machining and fabrication principles

* Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

* High awareness of Productivity and Quality

* Highly motivated team player

* Living within a reasonable commute to Southend-on-Sea (Essex) or willing to relocate.
