We’re currently looking for a Building Surveyor to join our team and support the management of our key corporate properties.

The Role

As a Building Surveyor, you will maintain and improve the Authority’s key corporate properties and oversee construction projects.

This varied role will include completing condition surveys, implementing maintenance programmes, managing development projects and providing cost estimates for building improvements. 

Additionally, you will: 

- Collect data on the structural condition and state of repair of existing buildings 
- Play a key role in the final design and layout of proposed developments
- Complete measured surveys of land and buildings and produce accurate plans
- Undertake feasibility studies to assess whether proposals are possible
- Act as the Principal Designer under CDM 2015 for all projects
- Carry out interim and final valuations for contract works

About You

To join us as a Building Surveyor, you will need:

- To be a surveyor with a relevant qualification, such as RICS, CIOD or an HNC or higher in construction
- Knowledge of building regulations, the planning process and codes of practice
- An understanding of quantification and estimating techniques 
- Knowledge of construction technology, materials and structural principles
- The ability to survey and develop drawings manually and use AutoCAD
