Team Leader
Eye, Suffolk

Prestige Recruitment Specialists Limited are currently representing our FMCG Client – a Poultry Processing Facility, near to Diss. We are looking to recruit 8 Team Leaders to join the team in a new, state of the art manufacturing facility. These are exciting times for expansion with our well-established client.

The Team Leader is responsible and accountable for the manufacture of quality products, which meets production needs and Customer Specification and achieves profit and performance targets. Driving continuous improvement to maximise operational effectiveness and efficiencies through the development of people, process and systems. Enhancing the group strategic pillars and guiding principles as set out. This role requires leadership qualities to ensure that all manufacturing aspects are met through the individual unit and cross functional support within the peer group.

Key Duties:
• Ensure all products meet or exceed the agreed customer specification and quality standards.
• Ensure Units technical and hygiene standards match best in industry.
• Monitor, improve and maintain all customer service levels, both internal and external.
• Responsible for the performance and speeds of lines with the aim of maximising line efficiency.
• Monitor, control and report on the product quality of your area including product entering and leaving the area and the labelling of products.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with the Management in order that they are fully briefed on all aspects of line / area operations, in particular the achievement of line/ area targets, employee attitudes and product quality
• Responsible for effective shift change overs which includes paper work and machinery.
• Effectively manage the resources to ensure minimum downtime and maximum efficiency
• Ensure development and training of Operatives/Machine Minders in conjunction with the HR Department.
• Support planning and implementation of the detailed daily production programme for relevant department, reporting potential variances and problems directly and promptly
• Report to the Shift Supervisor immediately any occurrence that could affect the finances or security of the Company or put its name into disrepute.
• Attend team meetings as required and contribute to good communication between management and operatives.
• Ensure good communication and employee engagement in order to help maintain good industrial relations and improve the overall effectiveness of the business.
• Advise or recommend any improvements to work methods which could improve productivity, performance or economy of operation
• Is sufficiently flexible in terms of hours of work to support and cover his or her shift and other shifts to meet the demands of the business.
• Be conscious of public relations and the image of the Company such that the operation is managed to uphold the presentation of the Company to visitors, customers and general public
• Animal Welfare to uphold the Company Policy
• Report to the Shift Supervisor immediately any occurrence that could affect the finances or security of the Company or put its name into disrepute

The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience within a similar role and/or FMCG environment.
• Basic Food safety and hygiene
• H&S managing safely training
• Good Organisational and Delegation Skills.
• Showed Leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• Problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Awareness of food manufacturing industry
• Good attention to detail
• Able to use own initiative and as part of a team
