The company is based in Teesside and the Automation & Software Engineers would need to be with a commutable distance. Commutable areas include – Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Hartlepool, Darlington and surrounding areas.

The Client

My client is a specialist in Marine Automation and Control Systems and is currently experiencing a sustained period of growth. They are able to provide complete solutions for a wide array of marine projects including PLC software/hardware design, project planning and more.

Responsibilities will include: production of electrical design schematics, layouts and bills of materials and liaison with purchasing to support production and manufacturing of equipment; production of project documentation including Functional Design Specifications, FAT/SAT/SIT Procedures & Reports, Calculation Notes, I/O Lists, Alarm Lists, Cause & Effect Matrices, FMECA documentation, Spare Parts Lists and other Project QA material and providing support to the Tendering and Proposals team as necessary. The ideal candidate would also have practical hands on experience with panel building, installation and commissioning and would also be keen to participate in these stages to follow the designs from concept to completion over the full project life cycle.

The Candidate

To be considered for this position the Electrical Design Engineers will have a relevant qualification in Industrial Automation, Marine Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

The candidate must be familiar and experienced with PLC & SCADA packages, specifically designing hardware using E Plan and be capable of working on a wide range of equipment ranging from low power instrumentation to high power generation & distribution systems.

You will have an analytical approach to problem solving, strong organisational skills and professional demeanour. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and proactive engineer who is able to communicate well at all levels and be customer focused and commercially aware.

Required Skills:

* 3D Design expertise using E Plan

* Solid PLC and SCADA understanding – Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi for example

* An understanding of Marine Controls would be a distinct advantage
