JOB TITLE Cutting & Creasing Machine Minder

REPORTING TO Production Manager

REPORTING STAFF Machine Assistant

WORKING WITH Cutting & Creasing Machine Minders, Print Machine Minders, Warehouse Operatives, Chief Engineer

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Ensure the quality of cut and creased work and compliance with Colpac BS5750 Operating Procedures.

Obtain the best possible production levels at all times.

Vary overtime working hours to optimise production.

Ensure that the relevant cutting and creasing machine is maintained, kept clean and efficiently run.

KEY TASKS

Liaise regularly with the Production Manager and planner to ensure the most efficient production within the overall production plan.

Ensure that the machine is fully operational at all times.

Make every effort to restart production when the machine is not operational.

In liaison with the Production Manager, assist in training other operatives, and/or machine assistants, to provide adequate cover and make a bigger contribution on the machine.

In liaison with the Production Manager, become experienced on the other cutting and creasing machines to provide adequate cover as and when required.

Through the Production Manager, liaising with the Chief Engineer with regard to breakdown and planned maintenance.

Achieve agreed targets for waste levels.

Ensure the Production Manager, or delegate, is kept fully informed.

Key Requirements:

Achieve weekly and monthly agreed production targets.

Minimal numbers of customer complaints and rejections because of wrong or bad cutting and creasing.

Achieve overall waste targets.

Efficient running of the cutting and creasing machine.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES

Recent, relevant and proven machine minder experience, specifically in Bobst 102 or 142 flat-bed die cutting.

The Successful Applicant must have the ability to:

Understand and carry out instructions;

Act on own initiative and adapt quickly to change;

Work under pressure whilst looking for continual improvements;

Meet the physical demands of the post with frequent lifting of light and moderately heavy items.

Must be able to work well within a small team with good listening and communication skills.

Must be able to work unsupervised with a flexible approach to working hours
