About the opportunity:

Electrical Test Engineer required for a world leading Defence Company based in London, you will be designing electrical/optical test measurement solutions for automated test solutions, new product introduction in manufacturing areas hand over and diagnostic support.

Role & Responsibilities:

*Train manufacturing operators in using test solution in manufacturing Write test software in Lab windows CVI, test stand & Labview, set test limits appropriately to ensure failures are detected
*To design in conjunction with product design teams test solutions that measure product performance and quality requirements through designed in test ability.
*Plan test station capability to meet manufacturing throughout plans to meet customer demands with optimum flexibility, justify capital expenditure of test solution.
*Ensure that all aspects of the test strategy address component technologies and associated failure modes and reliability.
*Ensure test solutions are the most efficient possible for productivity and cost savings.
Deliver test solutions that are robust, meet technical requirements for measuring product performance over temperature for assessment and QA acceptance.
*Be part of a technical team that introduces new products into manufacture to meet challenging schedules and deadlines.
*Support the first of manufacture and test of new product models and feedback any industrialisation/design issues to product core team.
*Be responsible for developing all aspects of the test solutions including test documentation in order for test software to be produced by dedicated Team.
*Design and build test station/test jigging as required for all stages of Qualification and Manufacturing phases.
*Select and specify test equipment for test stations, including future proofing to ensure upgrades are compatible for changing requirements.
*Design of hardware interfacing between the product under test and the test station to ensure optimum measurement accuracy and reliability.
*During production start-up, provide technical support to manufacturing teams and support failure analysis of product failures to gather information to continuously improve test solutions.
*Train manufacturing operators in using test solution in manufacturing.
Set test limits appropriately to ensure failures are detected.
*Carry out failure analysis on failed units, answer investigation requested raised by manufacturing operators and supervision.
*Ensure test station is safe for operator, design safety interlocks so that test station is safe.

Skills & experience:

*Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
*HND or relevant years' experience will be considered
*Experience training people is desired
